This article was written by JClay, the spiritual rapper and healer. Visit JClay for more wisdom, music, and insights.

I’ve read the books. Memorized what needed memorizing. Took notes. Received the highest of grades.

But I never found in a book what I always knew to be true.

I mean, how could I?

Books use words.

Words are symbols.

Symbols can never hold the vastness of what they represent.

Could your essence truly be captured by symbols?

How accurate would they be?

Would you rather eat a mango or read the letters that represent it?

You get my meaning.

The experience is the treasure. It is our gift. It’s the present.

Sure, you could read about me. But to truly know me… you’d have to be me.

Similarly, the only way for that present to be fully recognized is by being present.

In this article, I’m going to help you unlock the ultimate experience.

Where an apple is not just an apple.

A flower is not just a flower.

Love is not just love.

Everything is closer to how it’s intended to be experienced.

Beyond all senses.

Beyond all logic.

Shall we begin?

Let’s begin!

The World Is Drowning in Knowledge

Fifteen years ago, there were already over 130 million books in existence. That’s not even including self-published works.

To read every one of those 130 million books—without stopping, without sleeping—it would take over 62,000 years.

Even if a thousand of us read around the clock without sleeping and while sitting on the toilet, it would still take over seven years to finish.

And yet, with all that information…
Are we any closer to having that which is truly meaningful?

Are we any closer to having peace, experiencing endless love, and being in a constant state of bliss? What about joy?

Or are we simply recycling the same old paradigms that existed well before we were “born”?

The self-publishing sector alone saw 2.6 million new titles hit platforms in 2023.

But here’s the real question:

Do we need all of this information?

And more importantly… is all this information actually knowledge?

Information vs Knowledge

Many have affirmed that knowledge is power. Then what’s information?

Google defines information as:

facts provided or learned about something or someone

what is conveyed or represented by a particular arrangement or sequence of things

Clearly, everything contained in books isn’t factual. Or could we be mistaken about what a fact actually is?

Google defines a fact as:

a thing that is known or proved to be true

Now we’re getting somewhere.

Take a look at the following illustration.

The man on the left sees a 6 and knows it to be true. The man on the right sees a 9 and knows it to be true.

Both can prove their “truth”, but are either correct in their assessment?

You may be tempted to say a variation of, “Yes, they are both correct, and both things are true. It’s all a matter of perspective.”

So does truth rely on perspective?

Truly, I tell you, it does not.

Truth is truth.

It never changes.

What’s true cannot have a contradiction or contain variation, no matter the perspective, because that would render it untrue.

Yet we have words for this: opinions, beliefs, judgments, etc.

We’ve traded these words for phrases like:

my truth

in my experience

it is my feeling that

my grandma always said

…and then we treat these as law, which is another made-up concept.

Then we uphold this law and seek to punish those who don’t adhere to our laws, which aren’t even based on truth.

Woah!

I have lyrics from a song in the works that illustrate this point perfectly.

The jailed becomes the jailer

Enforcing rules he was teached

Too busy jailing more jailers

Jailer forgets that he’s free

Jailer calls everyone jealous

When they don’t care for his key

Jailer was sold on a cell

He tried to sell one to me

In other words, a lot of fuss and conflict is born out of non-truth.

What sense does that make?

We Don’t Lack Knowledge, We Lack Knowing

The real reason books remain so popular is that people are seeking knowing.

They’ve confused knowing with knowledge.

And so continues the cycle of seeking knowledge, finding it, being satisfied for a short time, and returning to a state of longing for more.

Knowing is different from feeling or believing. It goes deeper.
Knowing is total.

It leaves no room for doubt because doubt cannot exist in its presence.

It’s not sensed, meaning it cannot be understood through your physical senses.

Knowing is aligned with truth. And by truth, I mean the cosmic, unmoving principles that never change no matter who’s looking or when it is being seen.

When you know, you know.

You aren’t seeking.

You aren’t proving.

It doesn’t matter if everybody in the world displayed an alternative perspective. You would rest comfortably in your knowing.

Returning to Presence

As mentioned earlier, the present is called the present for a reason.
It is Creation’s Gift to Itself, and that includes us.

Knowing only exists in the present.
It cannot exist in the past or in the future.

The past and the future are shaped by perception, and often misperception, filtered through who you think you are and what you believe is possible.

Knowing never requires you to think.

To return to the present and to the state of knowing, you must loose the past and all of its causes.

I use the word loose instead of lose because it is too great of jump to go from believing in past events to realizing all of those events are being created now.

By loosening it, so to speak, you allow yourself to see new perspectives and welcome more ease into your life.

No longer will you be at the mercy of others and their circumstances.

It would be as if you unlocked a new world where all is like a beautiful lucid dream that you can see through and manipulate with your energy.

And that’s just the beginning!

The Hidden Curriculum We Were Never Taught

As soon as you were “born”, society has taught you to identify things in their separation.

It made a game of it, giving encouraging cheers, attention, and love to every correct answer you gave about perceiving the separate edges of light.

A spark is no longer a spark, but a pencil, a tree, or a person.

As you begin to recognize and perceive separateness, you identify with it. You start to possess it and assign ownership to all as you see fit.

You relegate yourself to being a body, separate, and living life unconsciously, so much so that you can no longer transcend time and space at will, except during your “dream” state, where you often return to consciousness.

Furthermore, you have learned to memorize and remember EVERYTHING except the most important of all, your divinity.

Instead of seeing the present as it truly is, you see your memories and your opinions displayed on the big screen.

Once you render judgment on an aspect of reality, you will only experience it as you judged it no matter divine the present truly is.

So the idea is loosen these judgments. Acknowledge that you may not truly know what everything means and the purpose it holds.

By loosening ideas of matter and what matters, you allow the truth to fill the spaces you held between yourself and All There Is.

The False Mind, The Ego

The Ego – a person’s sense of self-esteem or self-importance.

There are many misperceptions surrounding the concept of the ego.

The ego is the self that is formed as a result of you identifying as separate from reality.

And since the ego wants to continue to be, it will use whatever it can to keep you identifying with it, and to keep you separate for as long as possible.

But no worries.

This is where everything comes together.

If the ego is the self you created in separation, then knowing is the Self that exists only in truth.

And yes, truth is reconciliation – the remembering of your unity with All That Is.

Truth Is Experienced, Not Acquired

You permanently exist in a state of truth.
You don’t step into it, you are it.

It only seems otherwise because you’ve identified with the false.

What the false, bro?

The ego.

To witness the truth, you must first notice the difference between you and the voice pretending to be you.

Not because separation is real, but because seeing the illusion clearly helps you release it.

Here’s the essence:

The ego’s entire thought system is unnecessary.

You are not who the ego tells you you are.

Truth is only available in the present, and the present reveals how absurd ego-thoughts truly are.

The moment you recognize truth directly, you start hearing from the highest source … the one that has always been you.

Again, this isn’t something you memorize.

It’s not a technique you “remember” later.

Truth is something you experience.

And once you experience it, even once, nothing is ever the same.

There is a simple way to dissolve the ego and return to truth, however, it isn’t learned through words.

You don’t study it.

You do it.

You feel it.

You become it.

And when you do… you understand why no book could ever give you what presence reveals instantly.

If You Want to Experience This Shift for Real

Not in theory.
Not as a concept.
Not as a quote or a cool idea…

…but as your alive reality…

…I’ve created three paths.
Each one meets you at a different level of depth and asks a different level of commitment.

Let’s start with the deepest.

1. HOLY SHIFT Retreat – The Transformation

This is the big one.

HOLY SHIFT is where you step out of the intellectual world and into the direct experience of truth.

We dissolve illusion, loosen ego, and open the space for you to remember who you truly are.

You don’t “attend” this retreat.

You shift.

It’s the closest thing to stepping outside of the dream and realizing you’ve been awake the whole time.

If you’re called to this work — truly called — this is where to begin.

2. Private Coaching – Direct Guidance Into Truth

For those who want a more personal journey, I offer one-on-one coaching.

You get real-time guidance, reflection, and practical application of truth in your daily life.

I walk with you through clarity, alignment, ego dissolving, and returning to the presence you were born with.

If HOLY SHIFT is the spiritual immersion,
coaching is the integration.

3. The Music – Transformation in Rhythm

And for those who want to begin now…

The music is your entry point.

My albums carry the frequency of this work.

They’re coded with the principles of truth, presence, and inner peace.

You don’t just listen to them.

You shift with them.

They open your mind, soften the ego, and prepare you for the deeper work ahead.

Start here if you’re ready to feel different… even before you know why.

Final Word

You won’t find this in any book I’ve ever read.

Not because the books are wrong…

but because truth is too alive to fit on a page.

Truth is presence.

Knowing is presence.

You are presence.

This is why truth is experienced, not acquired. It reveals itself the moment you finally choose to be present

And the moment you stop trying to acquire truth

and start experiencing it…

everything becomes clear.

P.S. If this resonated, choose whichever path feels right for where you are.
Your shift begins the moment you say yes to yourself.

Mass technology failures aren’t random and they don’t happen to “unlucky” people. There’s a reason. When I say “mass” I don’t mean the entire world, I mean most of your technologies at once.

It sucks…maybe. But before we get into all of that, let’s recap.

In Part 1 we discovered why you may attract traffic jams into your reality and how they serve you. Then in Part 2, we simplified relationships in a way that you will never be bothered by difficult people ever again, if you so choose.

Today’s post is all about why your technology seems to fail often at the wrong possible time.

Let’s get into it.

Examples of Technology Fails

Just to get us on the same page, I want to point out some common electronic failures.

Siri or Alexa starts randomly talking to you for no reason

Smoke detectors only detect a low battery

Vehicle dashboard shows random icons

Computer is going super duper slow

Brand-new batteries not lasting long

Wi-fi does not get a high-five

Cell phone not making calls

Smartwatch said nope!

Light bulbs are dim

Now, none of the above works forever, and it’s not expected to.

So when one or two of these malfunction, no big deal.

But…when about 5 or 6 go on the fritz at the same time, it’s no bueno.

It feels like you’re being targeted somehow, but who would go through all of the trouble to sabotage all these little things in your life?

You already know the answer I’m going to give. You would do these things.

I know you’re thinking, “Bro, I would not do that to myself. That’s dumB with a capital B.”

Well, it’s not for me to judge, and here’s why you shouldn’t either.

The Higher Self

Before I get into the explanation, I want to fill you in on some things about yourself that you may not know.

You are a multi-dimensional being.

That means you exist here and now as you believe yourself to be, but you also exist in other space/times right now. These can include other physical dimensions, spiritual dimensions, and other dimensions we can’t wrap our minds around yet.

Remember in the previous article, we spoke about the example of how to realize you are in a new awareness based on the beliefs you now believe? It’s similar to that.

You make a decision and then your reality bends to reflect the nature of that decision even though moments before, your world was totally different.

So it’s more like your consciousness hovered over the new reality even those the previous one still exists.

Still with me?

A little higher up (and somehow inner), you have what’s referred to as a higher self. You’ve embodied this self many times.

Some of the times you have been aware of and other times you haven’t.

When there’s been an emergency and you did some stuff that can’t be fully explained logically…higher self.

When you had a magical day where nothing bothered you even though there were plenty of opportunities to be bothered…higher self.

Even when you get a deeper understanding of something suddenly…higher self.

The Relationship Between You and Your Higher Self

We live in a 3D world. 3D is 3 dimensional or 3 dimensions (height, width, depth).

You exist in those 3, but also in one part of time….the present. You can believe you travel to the past and the future in your mind, but physically, you are always here now.

Your higher self on the other hand that isn’t tethered to physical reality in the same way, lives in one part of physical reality (you) and more parts of time reality.

It’s like they are 3D+ from a different perspective (past, present, future, all). You can even say 4D, 5D, or more.

I won’t get into the specifics of all of that yet. The important thing to note is that your higher self has a higher & better perspective of what’s to come for you.

And you are always being guided toward that more enjoyable reality in the most optimal way possible.

Site note: Sometimes people confuse God with the Higher Self. It’s not wrong to do because technically your Higher Self is closer to God vibrationally speaking…but also depending on Who you believe God Is.

The word God also sounds like Guide and your higher self is also a guide if you allow yourself to be guided.

Your higher self speaks to you in many ways: from the gentle whispers of inspiration, the effervescence of joy, the warmth of good feeling, the serenity of peacefulness, to the profound clarity of inspired thoughts.

It’s all your higher self gently guiding you towards actions to take or feelings to embrace, illuminating your path with purpose and clarity.

So when you hear phrases like, “Order my steps Lord” or “Jesus take the wheel” it’s an acknowledgment that you don’t know all and that you’re willing to be guided.

Trust

This brings us to trust.

For the relationship between you and your higher self to work properly, you have to trust it.

It’s not like you’re trusting a third party that you know nothing about. Your higher self is another part of you. Your higher self wants you to thrive because it’s in your higher self’s interest.

So every situation that you find yourself, is a hand-picked situation just for you. It’s a shortcut to get you what you want in the fastest way possible.

But every time you interfere with this, you delay things further because you miss what’s here for you in this moment.

So your higher self must try again and again and again and again and again.

Sometimes it’s tough when you’ve encased yourself in fear, doubt, and worry. You’re almost unable to hear your higher self.

The Part That Your Failing Technology Plays

I’m sure you see where this is going now.

When your technology fails, your higher self is saying, “STOP! Take a breath.”

That may seem like a lot of work for a simple message but don’t underestimate the power of taking a breath.

There are many gifts in the present. That’s why it’s called the present.

You can only experience (or in-sperience) those gifts when you are present.

The present moment when free of all of your judgements is real. Everything else is not. Be real.

The situation or circumstance you are encountering right now has a benefit to you. You may not know what this benefit is until many now-moments later, but the benefit will always be here if you allow it to be.

Key Points

So as you go about your day and possibly explore this website further, remember these 3 things.

Listen to your higher self. Your higher self knows more about you than you do.

Never assume that a perceived inconvenience is a bad thing.

Enjoy every moment. That’s your true purpose.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this 3-part series.

Comment below if you have any questions.

Last, considering sharing this with the masses. But before you do, check in with your higher self.

This article was written by JClay, the spiritual rapper and healer. Visit JClay for more wisdom, music, and insights.

Previously on JClay.org, we talked about handling traffic jams like a pro and what they may signify in your life. Today, it’s all about dealing with difficult people and the role they play in you becoming the greatest version of yourself that you’ve ever experienced.

By these “difficult people”, I’m referring to those people who knowingly and unknowingly find creative ways to irk you … the ones that force you to take a deep breath … and the ones that rub you the wrong way, instead of, rub you the right way.

Meet The Difficults

The challenges that come along with dealing with difficult people are quite different from those discovered within and amongst traffic.

Yes, traffic is caused by people, but mostly it’s by people you don’t know.

Difficult people, however, come in all shapes and forms as friends and strangers, as loved ones and enemies, and even as co-workers and business partners.

If it wasn’t for difficult people, life may not be so difficult.

This is true. What is not true, however, is your “innocent” role in the matter.

In many instances, you have been the difficult one to others and yourself…but more on that later.

What makes a person difficult?

If you were to break down the words “difficult”, you would have “diff” and “cult” joined by “I”.

And so, my definition would be – a different culture that I witness. In no way does this definition have a negative connotation.

But let’s see what others say.

According to MorningCoach, difficult people are those who:

view everything as a competition.

like to place blame on others.

are usually close-minded.

like to argue with others.

are prone to outbursts.

love to judge others.

never compromise.

In many ways, I agree. This is society’s definition of difficult. And if I’m being honest with myself, I’ve dabbled in each of these behaviors upon a time.

Have you?

The answer is relevant because I’ve often wondered if people met themselves, would they like being around themselves?

Could you honestly be in your own presence 24/7?

Many seek escape on an hourly basis so they won’t have to deal with themselves and their thoughts.

Still, let’s play out this scenario. Let’s say that as you are now, you physically cloned yourself and had to interact with yourself all day long.

Would you find yourself judging yourself as judgy?

Would you become close-minded to how close-minded you are toward yourself?

Will the narcissistic behavior be apparent in that you want what you want more than the other you wants what the-other-you wants?

What I love about MorningCoach’s definition is that those with that behavior are displaying the same behavior by calling it out. I’ll explain.

How To Be Around Toxic Family & Friends

The Mirror

The hard truth is that everyone is a mirror to everyone else.

When I look at you, I may see confidence. When the person next to me sees you, she may see timidity, which is a fun word to say.

She and I would both be correct in what we see because we can only see through the filter of our beliefs.

I can only see you for what I am. And what I am not, I know not of.

Let’s give an example.

Have you ever heard a new interesting word or phrase and thought, “Where did that come from?” Then the following days, you hear it multiple times from multiple sources.

You may think to yourself, “How does everyone know this phrase and I just heard of it? Was it always in existence?”

So you google it only to find that the word or phrase has been commonly said for many years. This is NOT a coincidence.

This is a sign that you’ve stepped into a new level of awareness (a new reality).

Your beliefs changed, so what you now mirror has changed all perfectly in balance with what you dictated as the experience of your awareness as the master of your reality.

So let’s revisit MorningCoach’s definition from this mirrored perception.

Let’s bring back their definition.

…A difficult person is one who:

views everything as a competition.

likes to place blame on others.

likes to argue with others.

is usually close-minded.

loves to judge others.

is prone to outbursts.

never compromises.

From the mirrored perception, you are exactly like the so-named difficult person in that:

You are comparing yourself to or competing with that person.

You are blaming that person for being difficult when that blaming can be seen as difficult for them.

You want to be right and so you dislike when that person argues with what you’ve said.

You are not willing to understand their viewpoint, instead just wanting yours to be understood.

You are judging them for how they are being.

You are having an in-burst of negative feelings toward that person.

You don’t want to change how you feel about them and see them in a new light.

How Does This Help Me Deal with Difficult People?

Great question.

Hopefully, you are starting to realize that you are the difficult person that you interact with daily.

You are the one that gives meaning to the world around you. If someone were to ask you what’s the meaning of life, your unconscious answer based on your habits would be, “To be burdened by difficulty.” Or something similar.

Dealing with a so-called person of a different culture is a matter of dealing with yourself in understanding why you feel the way you feel.

For instance, let’s say you have a problem with people leaving you. To “protect” yourself, you may dismiss people out of your life prematurely thus perpetuating the cycle you don’t enjoy…leading you toward further un-enjoyment.

A better way would be to play the Why game so that you get to the root belief that you have allowed to show you a world of disbelief. Here’s how it would go in this situation.

Why do I hate when people transition out of my life?

Because it makes me feel alone.

Why does it feel bad to be alone?

Because it brings me closer to having to be with myself and I don’t like myself.

Why don’t I like myself?

Because I made bad decisions that I can’t forgive.

Why are those bad decisions?

Because I should’ve known better.

How could I have known better?

Because I was warned.

Why didn’t the warning matter?

Because it felt alive to act out my decision.

So do I regret the action or the consequences of my action?

Neither, I am happy about the experience and would happily do it again.

Then why can’t you forgive yourself?

I guess I can.

Many answers could have come from this and perhaps they did. The point is to play this game for yourself and go in as many directions as needed to reach the root.

Peace is here, it’s just been covered in judgments that we’ve ignorantly made in our youth that we have yet to re-explore.

So the more you deal with yourself, the less triggered you become by the words and actions of others.

Before you know it, you will be that happy person who laughs a warm and hearty laugh in every situation…that is until electronics and gadgets you depend on break down on you for no reason.

But there actually is a reason.

Technology Fails

Ahh, you know the drill. This article has become lengthy so we’ll conclude this topic next week.

As always, have some peace. It’s delicious.

Is this you …

…when stuck in traffic jams:

“Why does this keep happening to me?”

“There’s no way this is is possible.”

“Move *expletive*!”

…when dealing with difficult people:

“Do you not read body language?”

“How are you this dumb?”

“REALLY?”

…when technology fails:

“God, why has thou forsaken me?”

“The one time I need this.”

“This is unbelievable.”

Then perhaps you’re suffering from:

Chronic Impatience Syndrome (CIS): Symptoms include uncontrollable sighing, eye rolls, and muttering colorful language out of your window.

Acute Intolerance Disorder (AID): Marked by sudden loss of composure, questioning the intelligence of strangers, and slapping people out of nowhere.

Technological Tantrum Tendency (TTT): Characterized by explosive outbursts, a belief that devices have a personal vendetta, and a destroying of property.

DISCLAIMER: These are not actual medical conditions… but let’s be honest, they might as well be.

In this article, we are going to look at the cause and cure for each of these. More specifically, we are going to look at how YOU are causing each of these and how you can cure it all for good.

5 Ways to Make Your Mind Serve You

Traffic Jams

It’s a beautiful day out. The sun is waving at you and you have finished all of your work for the day. You can’t wait to get to your next destination and enjoy yourself.

All of a sudden…BAM, a traffic jam. You check your phone’s map app that shows there was an accident up ahead. There are no other roads to take and so you must wait it out.

What do you do?

You may curse. You might even slam on your horn, but the question remains. Why is this happening?

At one time or another, you may have asked this as well as, “Why me? How am I always attracting these types of situations?”

But tell me this…

…Have you ever cared to listen to the answer?

The answer is the most important thing to you at this point. Always listen for it.

If you were to listen, it may go something like this.

ANSWERER
Nothing is happening to you.

YOU
Yeah right.

ANSWERER
It’s happening “for” you.

YOU
How Answerer…how?

ANSWERER
What have you said you’ve always wanted?

YOU
What, peace? Simplicity? Ease?

ANSWERER
Yes, all of those.

YOU
How does that get me any of this?

ANSWERER
It’s easy to have peace when situations appear peaceful. But the truly peaceful demonstrate peace even when situations appear war-like.

YOU
That’s clever, but I’m not ready for all of that yet.

ANSWERER
You are and so it happens.

YOU
You mean to tell me that if I pass this test and be peaceful, then I won’t experience anymore traffic jams?

ANSWERER
I’m saying that if you are peaceful, you won’t care if there’s a traffic jam or not.

And so you decide to try it.
The next day you are excited to welcome the traffic jam.
Sadly, no traffic jam comes.

YOU
The one time I wanted a traffic jam, there wasn’t one. I was ready to practice. What gives?

ANSWERER
You stated you didn’t want to be stuck in traffic.

YOU
Yeah, but…

ANSWERER
First you were angry because there was traffic, then you were upset because there wasn’t. What changed?

YOU
My mindset.

ANSWERER
Ah haaaa.

And so, you live happily ever after…that is,
until you encounter a problem person.

Difficult People

Not so fast. This article is getting lengthy and you should reflect on the above.

And when you’re ready, here’s part 2.

What if I told you that you have more control over your experience than you realize and that it’s all a simple math equation that you already have the answer to? Would you solve it? Let’s talk spiritual math.

I will attempt to keep this article as simple as possible so that a non-Math person can understand and apply these spiritual math concepts.

I will also cite sources where you can go deeper into math principles if you so choose.

What is Spiritual Math as opposed to regular Math?

Short for Mathematics, Math is a universal language and a fundamental tool for understanding the physical world around us. It is the study of numbers, quantities, and shapes, and their relationships to one another.

Math is used to describe and model the behavior of natural phenomena, from the smallest particles in the universe to the largest structures in the cosmos. It is the foundation of science, technology, engineering, and finance, and plays a crucial role in almost every aspect of our daily lives.

Similarly, Spiritual Math is a term that refers to the use of mathematical concepts and principles in exploring spiritual or metaphysical ideas. It recognizes that math is not just a tool for understanding the physical world, but also has the potential to illuminate deeper truths about the nature of reality and our place in it.

Spiritual Math can involve the use of geometry, numerology, and other mathematical techniques to explore concepts such as the interconnectedness of all things, the nature of consciousness, and the relationship between the material and spiritual realms.

It can be seen as a way to bridge the gap between science and spirituality and to provide a language for exploring the mysteries of the universe beyond what can be perceived through our physical senses.

Are you ready to add more to your life or would you simply like to remain equal to the negativity that seems to exist?

0 and 1

0 and 1 are the basis of all computing systems and operations, including circuitry. Often referred to as the binary number system, 1 and 0 represent two choices, which can be displayed in a myriad of ways…yes & no, true & false, on & off, ok & cancel. You get the idea.

I won’t get into the details of binary, but if you want to learn more, check this article on How To Read Binary.

As I said earlier, 1 and 0 can be used to represent true and false, which means only one of these numbers is true, 1.

0 does not exist. It’s imaginary.

Mathematically speaking, since zero is both nonpositive and its own square root, then zero can be considered imaginary.

But I’m speaking logically. If 1 represents true, then zero represents false.

They can never be equal. And if both existed equally, we would not.

What is true can never be false. What is false can sometimes seem true, but it can never be.

Since falseness is inconsistent with itself, it has no foundation of truth to stand on. It is imaginary.

Truth on the other hand, or 1, is always true no matter what.

This is the basis of spiritual math.

If something truly exists, it shares the same properties as 1 or as truth.

Now we can begin to understand the expressions, “All are 1” and “Everything is one.”

So what is 0 really?

0 is more like “not 1”.

For example, if 1 represents all that is right, good, true, holy, and magnificent, then what is its opposite?

It has no opposite, but more on that later.

For now, we’ll accept the usual representation of the opposition, which would be considered wrong, sinful, false, unholy, and weak.

So for example, if something is “not good”, many would say it’s bad or sinful.

In other words, “not good” is to sinful as “not 1” is to 0.

What should begin to be clear now is that what is “not” is not. “Not” is not real and you shouldn’t let the idea of what’s not real take up real space in your mind.

The Introduction of 0

Quick history lesson.

It’s hard to say exactly when the concept of 0 was introduced into the world’s mathematics. Just know it wasn’t there from the beginning.

Some say it was first introduced in India around 500 AD. Others say zero dates back to the 7th century in a manuscript called the Bakhshali manuscript that was eventually transmitted to the Islamic world, where it was further developed and eventually introduced to Europe in the 12th century. And still, others say zero was first recorded in Mesopotamia around the year 3 B.C.

Regardless of when it was first brought into awareness, zero has had a profound impact on the development of mathematics, as it enabled the creation of the decimal system, which is still used today.

The introduction of zero also paved the way for the development of algebra and calculus, which would later revolutionize the fields of science and engineering.

And as such, the concept of zero is now considered to be one of the most important contributions to human civilization, as it has had a profound impact on the way we understand and interact with the world around us.

All of this from a false/imaginary number.

Is this to say that algebra and calculus are also false? That’s not for me to say.
I will say, however, applying this technique to the words above, we get some interesting combinations.

Understanding “Not 1”

To put this in full perspective, not 1 can be represented as:

Not complete

Not good

Not truth

Not real

Not rich

Not life

Or:

Incomplete

Sinful

False

Imaginary

Poor

Death

By making “not 1” a thing, many are able to react to it as if it is real and engage with this non-realness on a regular basis.

By this same logic, people are able to react to “not good” as if it were a real thing claiming that “sin is real”.

In the same way that the concept of zero has spawned algebra, calculus, engineering, science, and more….the concept of sin or evil deeds has spawned sickness, death, judgment, mental illness, etc.

This may be a stretch, but then again, it may “not”.

That is the power of “not 1”. It forces you to look at what is not there and experience it as if it was.

Understanding 1

We see what “not 1” is, but what exactly is 1?

Here’s the irony. 1 cannot be fully understood alone, which is also why it’s not good for man to be alone.

To really understand and know anything, you have to live it. And what better way than to live in oneness?

It’s not possible to live in none-ness or zero-ness because then nothing would exist. But with oneness, all things are the same. I’ll explain.

Anything that means anything to you, you have given meaning to it.

I’ll repeat. Anything that means anything to you, YOU have given meaning to it.

Now, look around you. From your body to the room that you’re in, you’ve given some sort of meaning and even value to it.

Without you giving the world meaning, it would in a sense to you be formless and void. A human body would just be clay and a building would just be sticks and stones.

Yet even those comparisons have meaning that you have also given.

Because of your core rootedness in truth, you have the ability to imagine and even use this imagination to project meaning onto that which has none.

Living In Oneness

When oneness is truly lived, you recognize that what is on the inside is also reflected/seen on the outside.

However, when oneness is falsely lived, what you see seems imbalanced or unequal.

The reason is that the oneness law is inescapable. It is what you are.

Even in an imagined conflicting world of 1s and 0s, you still live in oneness because the laws & rules you apply to others, you are also subjected to.

1 = 1. Always.

1 represents All. And within All lies even the possibility/illusion of not, or 0.

This is why you could judge someone as naive or ignorant when they don’t believe what you believe, and yet in this misbelief, they don’t share the consequence that would befall you, had you lived their beliefs.

This is also why you may perceive certain friends as lucky or able to get away with what you could never. Your perceived oneness within does equal another’s perceived oneness within. Each are mixed with a combination of 1s and 0s.

Even though neither of you may be living 100% aligned with truth, both of you are still experiencing aspects of the law of oneness in your own way.

So what is within always appears without.

Opposite vs Equal

You may have heard that you live in a world of duality. Binary language is a representation of duality meaning there are two sides to all. But as I said earlier, 1 has no opposite. This is because it has no other sides. It’s all-encompassing. 1 = 1 = 1 = 1 = 1, forever and ever.

Modern math represents opposite numbers as their negative counterpart. So it would claim that the opposite of 1 is -1.

However, -1 is also an imaginary number. It can’t be represented physically.

If an imaginary number is not real then it is equal to every other imaginary number in its not-realness.

What’s imaginary is equal to what’s imaginary.

To claim that something is opposite another is another matter indeed.

An opposite must be as powerful as the other to be considered a true opposite.

One wouldn’t judge another as their enemy unless they believe this person is as capable or even more capable than them.

Mathematically speaking, stating that 1 = 1 or 0 = 0 is a true representation of equal and opposite.

Saying that 1 ≠ 0 is not representing opposition or equality, but just stating the obvious.

So while you’re continuing to give parts of your world a negative meaning, recognize that these parts or circumstances should have no power over you because firstly, you’ve given meaning to it thus making you its maker. And secondly, what has no power or what has imaginary power shies away when in the presence of true power, you.

1 Division

Sounds like a singing group, huh?

Now that we understand the all-encompassing nature of 1, what would happen if 1 could be split?

Let’s divide.

Why divide? Because again, to truly understand something, you have to live it, being within it and it within you.

To keep it simple, we’ll divide 1 evenly.

We’ll say 1 divided by 2.

Commonly in math, 1 divided by 2 is considered one half, but let’s use the symbol … ½.

But actually, it’s ½ + ½. The other half didn’t magically disappear. It’s just that for some reason, mathematicians were focused on the subset.

So now we have 2 equal parts of ½.

Since we know that 1 is considered good, let’s restate that. 1 is good.

Now we split 1 (or good) into 2.

You now have 2 parts good. Yet each one represents half of good.

If we took one of the halves and regarded it as whole, what is it made up as?

It’s still good because, from the perspective of all of good, it’s half of itself.

Some would even say it’s just half good. To which I would ask, then what’s the other half made up as?

This is where things get confusing to individual minds, similar to halved minds.

It believes that part of itself is missing or cut off simply because it chooses to be halved or not connected.

So instead of regarding itself as whole, it seeks another half.

Now it’s getting interesting.

But let’s say this ½ judges its other ½ as being bad.

From the judgment of the first ½, this half now unknowingly sees itself as bad simply because, ½ = ½.

And since what’s bad could never equal what’s good, the self-judged divides again to search for ½ good, but each half is halved making it a fourth, an eighth, a sixteenth, and so on.

Are you with me?

Plugging In Real Values

Let’s look at this another way.

Good = ½Good + ½Good

If we subtract ½Good from both sides, we get…

Good – ½Good = ½Good

So:

½Good = Good – ½Good

Since it’s getting confusing, let’s give these all names to simplify.

We’ll name Good as Christ. The first ½Good would be Adam and the other ½Good would be Eve.

Let’s list all the equations we can to represent this using basic math.

Christ = Adam + Eve
Adam = Christ – Eve
Eve = Christ – Adam
Adam = Eve

Now Adam and Eve both feel incomplete. They’ve been cut off in a sense from each other. Yet from the perspective of Christ, nothing has been lost. Christ still has all parts of himself.

From the perspectives of Adam and Eve, something is not right.

So Adam attempts to join with Eve and the two feel good together.

Then Eve does something Adam does not agree with and he judges her as bad. But Adam equals Eve? So Adam has unknowingly or unconsciously judged himself as bad.

Since they are all that is, they still mix and mingle. They have two kids together.

From the perspective of Christ, nothing has been lost.

Christ = Adam + Eve + Child 1 + Child 2

It may seem like Christ has gained. This is true, but not in the way you think. The energy or value of Christ is still the same, however, the energy that makes up Christ has shifted and new possibilities are formed, but still all within the 1.

Now from the perspective of Adam, he may believe he’s greater than the others.

Adam < Christ

Yet, Adam believes:

Adam > Eve
Adam > Child 1
Adam > Child 2

But truly:

Adam = Eve

And now also:

Adam = Child 1
Adam = Child 2

But because Adam believes he is greater, then he unknowingly or unconsciously made others greater than he in his mind. So to even the playing field or to even out the equation, he has thoughts of attempting to belittle the “others”, not realizing that they are also himself.

This cycle repeats and repeats for each.

Yet Christ is still a happy 1.

And within, the perceived individuals are not ready to accept that the sum of all its parts equals the whole.

In other words, you plus me plus everyone else in existence make up this oneness.

And since all the parts are equal, having a good life is as simple as recognizing the good in all. Because to judge one is to judge yourself.

To state that another way, since you’ve given meaning to all you see, you’re really only seeing yourself. And to then judge against what you see, would directly be judging against yourself.

Bad Math or better yet ‘Not Math’

It’s easy to believe that you’re greater than another because of a misinterpretation of the following equation.

Remember how:

Christ = Adam + Eve

Then to solve for Adam would be:

Adam = Christ – Eve

The misinterpretation comes from the above. Adam may feel that if he gets rid of Eve, then he will be equal to Christ.

But again remember that since Adam is equal to Eve, we can substitute Adam for Eve. So to represent this perceived equation accurately would be:

Adam = Christ – Adam

From Adam’s perspective, he would lose himself in the process.

But since 1 is always 1, Adam would only imagine that he’s lost himself.

Again, from the viewpoint of Christ, the equation is still balanced, we see that:

Christ = Adam + Adam

Going back to this equation and looking at it differently, we have:

Adam = Christ – Eve

Now Adam attempts to remove Eve and…

Adam – Eve = Christ – Eve – Eve

Since Adam equals Eve, we have:

0 = Christ

Since Christ represents 1, we see how untrue this statement is:

0 = 1

It doesn’t and it won’t. Yet that is what happens when you attempt to go against a fellow self.

<s>Takeaways</s> One

What can be concluded from this?

We truly are all connected.

If you judge me, you judge yourself.

If you praise me, you praise yourself.

Negativity has no power because it’s imaginary.

Division is impossible because all parts of the 1 still remain.

What I see has always just been me, so why don’t I start seeing through the eyes of the 1.

If you’ve enjoyed this, here’s another fun thing with numbers tailored to exactly who you are.

Last, check out this rap song 123 which represents both the halved side and then the whole side as outlined in this article.

Reading is more than just a pastime, it’s a great activity that can change your life. An article published by Aleteia emphasized that a good book is the key to leading a joy-filled life. Moreover, it was highlighted that reading books about spirituality can build your character and enlighten your soul.

As such, books are fundamental instruments for individuals who want to deepen their spirituality. In line with that, here are five books that can strengthen your sense of spirituality:

A Course in Miracles

A Course in Miracles was written by Helen Schucman in 1976, but it has been making waves across different spiritual practices decades after its first publication. A previous post entitled The Top “A Course in Miracles (ACIM)” Inspired Rap/Hip-Hop Artists emphasizes that this book is so life-changing that it’s influenced books, films, art pieces, and even rap.

A Course in Miracles has created such an impact because it opens people up to the greatest miracle of all: love. And through reading it, you can gain awareness of love’s presence and guide yourself towards a united spiritual purpose.

The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment

Spirituality teacher Eckhart Tolle is the genius behind this best-selling book that discusses the significance of the present moment. Recognizing how thinking about the past and the future can induce anxiety, Tolle wrote The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment to teach people how to embrace the present.

The book’s simple language, as well as the question and answer format, makes it easy for readers to ease themselves into a new state of mind. This makes it a very effective tool in embracing the now and getting connected to an indestructible essence of your being.

The Untethered Soul

If you’d like to know more about Buddhist principles, then The Untethered Soul is a good place to start. This book, which was written by Michael A. Singer, explores how the principle of the Middle Way can help you reach a peaceful state of mind.

Through simple and easy-to-follow language, Singer discusses how you can embrace your existence without any force. This philosophy will help you free yourself from any emotions and thoughts that may be weighing you down. By allowing things to just be, you can experience a more elevated and peaceful existence.

Learned Optimism

You can deepen your spirituality through the science-backed research studies covered in the book Learned Optimism. In this book, author Martin Seligman discusses the proven benefits of becoming an optimist, such as being more healthy, successful, and happy. Then, the renowned psychologist teaches his readers how to break bad habits and implement new strategies that can enhance their quality of life.

By embracing optimism through these strategies, you can develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of people, love, and life. This will help you serve a more enlightened purpose throughout the human experience.

Real Magic: Creating Miracles in Everyday Life

Best-selling author Dr. Wayne Dyer explores a different kind of magic in Real Magic: Creating Miracles in Everyday Life. This book discusses realistic strategies that can help you experience profound miracles.

While these miracles aren’t the ones you usually see in the movies, they are great life experiences that can help you get past perceptions that have been holding you back. This then allows you to reach a higher level of consciousness where you can experience blessings in your everyday life.

Summary

Through these five books, you can learn how to open yourself up to a deeper spiritual practice. It only goes to show that books are valuable tools of knowledge that can help you gain a deeper understanding of love, peace, optimism, miracles, and the present moment.

Have you ever wondered why you are here and what you are here to do?

The post Why Am I Here? Tough Question, Simple Answer appeared first on JClay.

This article was written by JClay, the spiritual rapper and healer. Visit JClay for more wisdom, music, and insights.

One of the most asked questions people ask themselves is, “Why am I here?”

Even asking yourself this question gives a hint toward the answer. In fact, “why am I here” answers itself.

To get to the question’s simplicity, we must pull back some layers of complexity.

I can just give you the answer now (or you can scroll down), but it won’t be accepted without first pulling back these layers.

Understanding your Why

It’s important that you understand why you’re asking this. The reason is that you may not really want the answer to this question, but to many other questions.

For now, let’s explore the two main reasons you may ask, “Why am I here?”

The first is out of pure curiosity. In this way, the answer does not really matter. It’s a question asked at the moment and then let go of in the next.

Surprisingly, when you let go of questions, answers come much faster as opposed to always asking questions.

And since you’re reading this article, chances are you still have questions.

The second main reason you may ask why you are here comes from a not-so-loving place.

Chances are you are bored with life, find it unfulfilling, and/or completely overwhelmed by it.

You want out!

This is not to be confused with wanting to die, you just want out of your current way of living.

Who would blame you? Not loving life is not living.

It’s kind of like undying…you aren’t dying, yet you won’t live.

But the fact that you’re asking this question is HUGE.

Asking, “Why am I here” shows signs of life and that you’re ready for change.

Embrace it and ask yourself again why you are here.

Then let the question go completely knowing deep down you’ll find your answer (hint: it’s below).

Where is “here”?

The “here” in the question is one of the most misunderstood parts because even you as the asker don’t really know what you’re asking.

For example, “here” could mean on earth, in this town, in this relationship, at this job, in this conversation, on this website, in this body, in this skin, at this party, in this time, etc.

You could think you’re asking for one of the above mentioned, but you’re really asking for another one of the above mentioned.

I know…it makes us humans sound confused. This is also true, which is why you understand what I’m pointing out.

But JClay, doesn’t “confused” mean that you don’t understand? Exactly.

Back to “here”.

The first step in understanding why you are here is to know the “here” that you’re asking about.

If you want some extra credit, you can play the “Where’s here?” game. It’s where you ask yourself, “Where am I?”

You’ll probably start with the room that you are in and eventually escalate to your planet. After that, it starts to get tricky, but it’s a good awareness exercise to realize that you aren’t where you think you are.

So if you do play the “Where’s here?” game, try to go as far as you can.

And then of course ask yourself again, “Why am I here?” with the new awareness of where you think here is.

Who is “I” or who are you?

If your brain isn’t tingling yet, it’s about to.

Let’s talk the “I” aka your I-dentity aka your Individuality aka your I-dea of yourself.

Before I go too in-depth, ask yourself right now who you are.

Did answers come up like your name, profession, race, class, etc?

Let’s say you let go completely of your past, all of it. Who are you right now in this moment?

Your sex may have come into play. But are you just flesh? If so, you would’ve died with the millions of cells that died from your body today.

Go deeper. Who are you? And with the knowledge that you’re not a body, what are you?

If you were anything like me, you may have thought that you were your thoughts and emotions?

The problem, however, is that thoughts and emotions come and go, and you always seem to remain even when they’re gone.

So you’re not a body, you’re not your thoughts, and you’re not your emotions. What the heck are you?

Don’t say your past either. If you did, go listen to this song right now.

Since your past is gone while you are here, then we can conclude that you’re not your past either.

What you truly are

Let us now answer the questions, “Who am I?” and “What am I?”

Everything you perceive outside of yourself seems to have meaning.

What may not yet be realized is that you gave it all the meaning that it has.

This explains why some of your friends may like partying while you do not (or vice versa).

It’s because it has no meaning to you, or you place no value in it.

You are what gives value to the valueless.

In order to give value, you must be valuable.

In this, your identity is shared with all. You’ve given value to that you want to value and thus your own perceived value is reflected back to you.

You are not apart from anything. In other words, you are one with everything.

This is why mindset is everything.

That which you believe about a person or thing will be made real to you because you gave realness to it through your thoughts. You “realized” it.

Everyone is not ready to accept responsibility for their own thoughts. But once you do, you’ll see that life was always everything you thought it would be.

So what’s your purpose? Whatever you’ve done on purpose.

The answer to, “Why am I here?”

To answer once and for all, “Why am I here”, let’s restate the big reveal from above.

You are not apart from anything…you are one with everything.

You believe that you are a separate being, but the truth is that you are one with all existence.

By asking yourself why you are here, you are siding with the false notion that you could be separate. And so in this asking, you are denying yourself yourself.

To ask, “Why am I here?” is to already have the answer.

The “I” is “here” because you’ve attempted to separate yourself from reality by asking a question that is not possible.

The idea of separateness is the cause of all despair and fear.

“Why am I here?” You are not, well at least not how you believe yourself to be.

You are.

You are not a body or thing.

You are.

You are not a thought or emotion.

You are.

To say that you are anything is to place a limit on yourself and what you are can only be described as limitless. Yet the word “limitless” is just a symbol and cannot represent the totality of what you are.

You exist beyond all existence. You cannot be separate from your Creator just as your creations cannot be separate from you.

Author’s Notes

I know. It got a little deep. Some may not even understand it right now.

It’s ok.

You will eventually.

I’ve even made this album to help you along.

It takes you step-by-step through the undoing of false ideas you have of yourself so that you may tap into your limitless potential.

And best of all, you can chill out and vibe to it from start to finish.

It’s title IAMNOBODY, IAMSOMEONE.

Death is one of those topics that's a hot button for many people. It seems to be inevitable to all, yet that doesn't make it hurt any less. This article touches that button so that it will no longer hurt at all. Let's get into it.

Living in today’s world, death seems inescapable. Many have even accepted it for themselves and look forward to approaching that day at a future time.

However, many have not accepted it for their loved ones. When a death occurs, it can feel like nothing makes sense and that the world is unfair.

If you are a follower of this blog or my music, you know that I don’t believe in death in the way that many others do.

The intent of this article is not to change your beliefs regarding death. That’s what There Is No Death, No Pain, and No Evil is for.

This article is to show how you can be alright at this moment when the thoughts of loss seem too great.

There may be some things in this article that seem to strike a nerve, but continue to read it in its entirety. This will help you.

Let’s get into the 5 ways to easily get over the death of a loved one.

1. It’s All About You

This is going to come as a shocker, but know that I am saying this with love.

When someone dies, it’s not about you.

That person supposedly lost their life, but you didn’t lose anything.

So if you’re going to feel sad, don’t feel sad for yourself. You’re still here and get to live it up.

Instead, feel sad that they won’t get to live it up, which has nothing to do with you. And then, remember that you don’t need to feel sad at all.

I’m not suggesting that you hold back your feelings. Let them out in a huge cry if you need to.

But then celebrate and honor your memory of them by feeling good that you crossed paths and that the best parts of them are with you always.

2. A Loved One’s Purpose

There is a belief that people exist in this world only for your will. I know, it’s a hidden belief.

You lay claim to these people through your words, i.e. your friends, your family, your this, your that, etc.

Within this belief, you think you know what’s best for them all. You know their highest capabilities and even their incapabilities.

Additionally, you know that whenever you call them, it’s best for them to fulfill your request. That request could be to entertain you, make you feel better, be good company, whatever.

But do you really know this? Do you even know that you think you know this?

Everything and everyone that exists has a purpose or else they would not be here.

In terms of items, when you no longer have a purpose for one, you either throw it away or give it away to be repurposed.

Many of us still don’t even know our own purpose, let alone the purpose of another.

How To Discover Your Purpose

What does this mean?

When you perceive a person’s death, you don’t know if their purpose was fulfilled or not.

You also don’t know if the circumstances surrounding their death were a manifestation of their commonly repeated thoughts.

The person may have gotten exactly what he or she wanted out of life and was ready to transition to something else.

Again, you don’t know.

There’s no sense in being mad or sad over something that you don’t know.

Furthermore, for those that believe in God, as I do. Do you really believe that God’s Will could not be done? Trust It. Trust Him.

He knows what’s best for you and He wants to give it to you. But it’s hard to receive something when you’re denying it.

3. Closing Off Yourself From New Experiences

When you’re a kid, everything is exciting because it’s all-new.

Everything is also exciting because it stays new.

No moment is like the previous one nor do you try to make it that way.

But as you get older, you try to recreate past moments that you felt were great. You deny this moment in favor of one that already happened.

You no longer trust that exciting experiences will be brought to you so you invest in what could never be, the past.

When you live in the past, you try to hold on to everything and everyone exactly as they were in that moment.

Yet you know as well as anyone that people’s thoughts, feelings, and bodies change every second of the day.

This means that by holding on, you are essentially setting yourself up to remain disappointed at all times.

It’s almost like your thoughts of choice are, “I want what I could never again have because I know everything about the world including that everything else would suck in comparison.”

If your thoughts, feelings, and body is changing all the time, that means that what you would enjoy changes all the time as well. God and the universe are always wanting to give to you that which you would enjoy.

But by holding onto one tiny moment that happened infinity moments ago, you are choosing littleness instead of abundance.

In doing this, the only thing that can make you happy is that which could never be.

Let go of the past so that you can experience all that the present has to offer in its glory.

This is not to say to forget about your loved one. This is to say to live now for you both.

4. Communicating with Your Loved One

The loved one is still with you now. Who you are is a combination of yourself and their influences over you. So literally, you are no longer just yourself.

In addition to that, you can actually communicate with your loved ones now as if they are here because, in reality, they are.

Here’s how.

Sit in a comfortable position. Relax completely being fully grounded in the present. Feel your toes touch the floor or your shoes. Let go of any past thoughts or experiences. Make only this moment your focus.

Close your eyes and think of the love shared between you and your loved one. Now say what you would say to them either out loud or to yourself.

Listen to what you receive back from them. It may not be heard with the body’s ears, but it’s definitely felt.

You can do this any time of any day for any length of time. So have at it. Enjoy a full dialogue.

A quote from one of my favorite books A Course In Miracles (ACIM) perfectly sums up why you are able to do this.

“Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God.“

And in case you want a bible quote, check out Luke 20:38.

“He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to Him all are alive.“

5. Holding Onto Form Weakens You

As I mentioned above, you are choosing littleness instead of abundance.

You already accept that your thoughts, beliefs, and body are endlessly changing. And throughout all of these changes, you’ve still always been you.

So what version of your loved one are you trying to hold? And why would you want them to be stuck in a changeless form for your benefit?

There are so many people in your physical awareness right now that would love for you to enjoy them.

But it’s impossible to experience both loss and abundance. Each denies the other and so only one can be true.

If loss was real, then you would be happy to receive it. However, since abundance is real, even the illusion of loss can be.

To believe that your loved ones are only a body is to believe that you are an insignificant speck incapable of anything real.

This is not true. You are the light of the world. Your rays extend beyond any and everything ever-flowing for eternity.

In Conclusion

In conclusion, your loved ones didn’t die. Only your perception of who they were, died.

Let go of this perception so that you can LIVE with them always.

Enjoy this beautiful selection from, IAMNOBODY, IAMSOMEONE.

There's no doubt that the mind controls the body. We often look to physical aids to cure physical problems. But this does very little if the cause of the problem is never addressed. This article shows the scientific links between the leading causes of death and their mental counterparts. It also reiterates how important mental health is.

The body seems like a fickle master always changing what it wants and needs. You serve it proudly, but it betrays you when you need it most.

To add insult to injury, the body blames you for not adhering to its ever-changing laws and creeds. Then it withers away and dies as if that was always its purpose.

This sounds like an insane master.

What if the body was never meant to be a leader but a symbol of what its host’s mind embodies?

In the 17th century, Thomas Willis, M.D. hypothesized that diabetes was caused by “sadness or long sorrow and other depressions.“[1]

This was followed up a couple of hundred years later by Sir Henry Maudsley that published “The Physiology and Pathology of Mind“. In it, he said, “Diabetes is a disease which often shows itself in families in which insanity prevails.”

If a physical disease such as diabetes has strong ties to mental stability, do other illnesses share this trait? Is healing the body as simple as healing the mind?

Let’s explore!

The supposed leading causes of death

According to the CDC, here are the top 10 leading causes of death in the United States in 2019.

Heart disease

Cancer

Accidents (unintentional injuries)

Chronic lower respiratory diseases

Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases)

Alzheimer’s disease

Diabetes

Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis

Influenza and pneumonia

Intentional self-harm (suicide)

Many expect COVID-19 to be added to that list when the 2020 numbers are released.

Both Alzheimer’s (6) and intentional self-harm (10) are already regarded as mental illnesses, but what about the rest?

Could all of these be cured with a wellness mindset?

A Sad Heart

Have you ever thought about why being depressed is often referred to as having a sad heart?

Yes, you have a physical heart. Yet, this saying refers to thoughts and feelings of sorrow, not that of physical chest pain.

One study conducted by John Hopkins University on nearly 7,000 U.S. adults concluded that women aged 17 to 39 with depression had a significantly higher risk of ischemic heart disease death.

ischemia – an inadequate blood supply to an organ or part of the body, especially the heart muscles

These findings are backed by another study conducted by the American Heart Association that found that young women are twice as likely to suffer a heart attack or die of heart disease if they suffer from depression.

Men are not exempt.

The European Society of Cardiology recently published the findings of a Swedish study outlining how men diagnosed with anxiety in their late teens or early 20s are more than twice as likely to have heart-related diseases later in life in comparison to their more laid-back peers.

There’s more to mental wellness than meets the eye.

Cancer

Funds available to the National Cancer Institute in 2018 totaled $5.94 billion![2] This is a 5% increase from the previous fiscal year.

Obviously, people are serious about curing cancer.

From these dollars have come such studies as this one, which showed that cancer patients can live longer lives by getting mental health treatment.

There is also a growing belief that cancer is directly related to feelings of unforgiveness.

Dr. Michael Barry, author of the book The Forgiveness Project estimates that 61% of cancer patients have forgiveness issues. “Harboring these negative emotions, this anger and hatred, creates a state of chronic anxiety” Dr. Barry explains.

You may also like: It’s Not Hard To Forgive, It’s Hard To Keep Lying To Yourself About It

The Mind-Body Connection

There have been similar findings with stroke victims and Alzheimer’s patients.

One study by the American Stroke Association found that higher levels of optimism in stroke survivors were associated with reduced stroke severity.

Another by the Alzheimers’s Association found a link between repetitive negative thinking and Alzheimer’s disease.

The mind-body connection is one that has been explored since the beginning of mankind.

Many believe that we are spiritual beings having a temporary human experience, so the body is of no consequence.

Even those that have died and been resuscitated support this theory by expressing that they felt immense peace and unconditional love while wrapped in an endless sea of light absent a body.

So can all illness be healed through the mind?

Is mental wellness the most important thing for this seemingly physical experience?

How To Ensure Mental Well-Being

Photo by Josue & Kerry of Friday Feels Production

There are many ways to secure and maintain mental wellness.

One super effective way is music. It’s meditation, visualization, and affirmations all rolled into one.

Studies have shown that patients who listened to music had less anxiety and stress hormones in the body than people who took drugs.

When listening to music, your mind goes to another place (meditation). You can feel and imagine what the song invokes (visualization). When you listen, you sing or chant along (affirmations) with full confidence.

This is why it is also important to choose the music you listen to wisely.

I’ve created an album, IAMNOBODY, IAMSOMEONE, that is a thorough guide to having inner peace. By listening, you can reverse the effects of anxiety & depression without therapy or medicine.
